Hello, I am Eve
Training to become a Counsellor and Psychotherapist has been one of the best decisions in my life. Not only do I have the privelidge of being on clients' sometimes dark and challenging journies. I also see the change and transformation as people learn, grow and find their authentic and abundant selves. I am an absolute believer that we can change the world for the better by healing ourselves first. This positive change ripples out into families, workplaces, and communities.
My Story
My journey into counselling has grown out of my own lived experience and a deep desire to live more fully, more authentically, and more in alignment with who I truly am.
Before training as a counsellor, I spent many years working as a community theatre facilitator and director. It was work I loved: creative; expressive and motivated by a desire for positive social change. It gave me a real sense of purpose. But when my son was young, I reached a point of burnout. Slowly, I lost the energy for something that I had poured my heart and soul into.
Looking back, I can see that it had been building for a long time. I had been giving so much of myself to others, constantly adapting and holding everything together, that I had drifted away from my own needs, my own voice, and my own sense of self.
What followed was a turning point, a deeply personal journey back to myself.
I began exploring different ways of supporting my wellbeing, such as meditation, mindfulness, yoga, journalling, and time spent in reflective, supportive spaces like women’s circles. I read widely, listened deeply, and started to reconnect with something within me that had been quietly waiting to be heard.
The decision to train as a counsellor didn’t come from overthinking or planning, it came from a place of inner knowing. It felt clear, grounded, and purposeful, as though everything I had experienced had been guiding me towards this work.
My own early experiences of counselling in my twenties were not always positive. One, in particular, felt judgmental and left me feeling unable to open up again for many years. It took nearly two decades before I felt ready to return.
Because of this, I understand how much courage it can take to reach out and how important it is to feel truly safe, accepted, and supported when you do. I believe that when the right therapeutic relationship is in place, counselling can be transformative. When I found a therapist who felt right for me, it allowed me to rebuild my sense of self-worth, reconnect with who I am, and begin living in a way that felt more grounded, more empowered, and closer to my full potential. This is what I now bring into my work.
I support women and men who may feel overwhelmed, exhausted, or close to burnout, as well as young people who feel lost, disconnected, or unsure of themselves. My aim is to offer a warm, compassionate space where you can feel heard and understood, and where you can begin to reconnect with yourself, your strengths, your voice, and the abundance of life.
I believe that change is possible, and that with the right support, it is possible to move towards a life that feels more balanced, more meaningful, and more like your own.
